Yes, I've sms the details of her flight and time departure and return to you last week. We're thinking of lodging at that Siem Riep hostel (USD 10 for bunkers) which is only a stone's throw from Queen Angkor Villa. What do you think?

Her name is Cheng Yee. You've met her when we played Settlers of Catan at OTK last year. CY and me are considering to hop over to Ho Chi Minh by bus KIV on the 3rd day.

Grab the latest October Issue of Discovery Channel magazine for an intriguing write up on The Rise and Fall of The Angkor Kingdom and artist impressions of what life at Angkor was like in its glory . A satellite image proved the theory that the temples surrounded by a moat was interconnected through an eloborate series of canals and reservoirs flowed in from the Siem Reap River.

Thanks for the heads-up. I bought a few books from Amazon, had meant to read them before the trip but my schd's all running wild now... luckily Waiyan is going thru some of them.

  • Angkor and the Khmer Civilization (Ancient Peoples and Places)

  • Angkor Cities and Temples

  • Cambodia's Wondrous Khmer Temples, Fifth Edition (Odyssey Illustrated Guide)

The 1st book talks about the entire civilization of Khmer. Pretty interesting but can be zzzz... if you are not into this type of info.

Games? Not sure if we want to spend too much times on games while we are there.... but if u wanna bring some, most welcomed.

This is happening in two weeks time so need to start planning the itinerary. Need to know if you & CY are jumping off to Phnom Penh or staying with us for all 6 days. Ian - what about you?

I may bring Infernal Contraption (nephew punya card game) http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/29456

I think there are plenty to look around in Angkor so I think I'd just stick around.

Is there anything great to see in Phnom Penh?
